In UC Davis’ home opener against San Diego (9/9), he thew for three touchdowns and 369 yards, the most yards recorded against a Division I opponent since Montana State visited Davis in 2014... In the Aggies’ next home game versus North Dakota (9/30), he threw for 415 yards... That was the first 400-plus yard game by an Aggie quarterback since 2008... Threw a career-high 459 yards against Cal Poly (10/28), in addition to four touchdowns, which led to Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week, STATS FCS National Player honorable mention, HERO Sports Offensive Hero of the Week and College Sports Madness Big Sky Player of the Week accolades... The following week at Idaho State (11/4), he finished with 358 passing yards and becoming the first quarterback in nearly a decade to record 3,000 passing yards in a single season; that threshold was last reached by Greg Denham in 2008.
LONG BEACH CITY COLLEGE (2016): Earned Southern California Football Association Central Division Offensive Player of the Year as a redshirt freshman in 2016... Added first-team all-state accolades to his honor roll before transferring to UC Davis... Played for head coach Brett Peabody... Completed 268 of 422 (.635) passes for 3,689 yards, and Association-leading 38 touchdowns against eight interceptions... Set school records for both passing yards and TDs... Earned SCFA Player of the Week three times that year, including his career-high six-touchdown performance vs. Canyons... LBCC finished the season with a No. 9 national ranking and 47-41 victory over Bakersfield in Western State Bowl... Passed for career-best 477 yards and five TDs in that title game.

PERSONAL: Born in Fullerton, Calif.... Parents are Jim and Lori Maier... Active with his church and SPHS campus ministry... Attended Kobe Bryant's 81-point game as an eight-year-old fan in January, 2006.
