DAVIS, Calif.
- For his role in helping UC Davis record a blowout victory at Portland State last weekend, STATS FCS and the College Football Performance Awards bestowed respective national Honorable Mention accolades to Jake Maier.

The Aggies also received votes for the second week in a row and climbed up STATS FCS' poll thanks to the sophomore's efforts. By finishing with 316 yards vs. PSU, Maier became the first Aggie quarterback in the program's Big Sky era to throw for 300 or more yards in consecutive games against Division I opponents.

Throughout his afternoon at Providence Park, Maier (economics major) completed 24 of 33 passes found nine different receivers, did not throw an interception and recorded three touchdowns. The Santa Fe, Calif. native also rushed for an average of 5.2 yards, on five carries, to help this program on the rise snap its five-game slide against Portland State, and collect its first victory on the Vikings' home turf since Oct. 24, 2009.

UC Davis will enter Saturday's Big Sky opener at Weber State ranked No. 1 in passing offense at 314.3 yards per game and pass efficiency (176.2). Maier also leads all Big Sky quarterbacks in total offense (326.7 ypg) and passing average per game (314.3 ypg).
