OGDEN, Utah - On each of Ryan Parenteau's two blocked punts, UC Davis scored a touchdown -- key plays that resulted in 14 points for the Aggies, matching Portland State's total for the entire day. Combined with his team-high eight tackles, and six solo stops, this week's selection for Big Sky Special Teams Player of the Week an easy call for conference officials since they selected the aerospace engineering major for this week's award.

This is the first time in the junior defensive back's career that he earned Player of the Week accolades from the Big Sky Conference.

After Parenteau blocked his first kick during the final minutes of the first quarter -- the first of his career -- teammate Darryl Graham collected the bouncing ball and raced into the end zone to extend the Aggies' lead to 10 points.

That block was the first by an Aggie in more than five years, and the first returned for a touchdown since 2008.

Late in the third quarter, Parenteau became the first UC Davis player to block two punts during the program's Big Sky era when he thwarted another attempt from PSU punter Hayden Cowden. That play paid off six plays later when the Aggies pushed their lead to a 23-7 margin entering the fourth quarter.

Victorious in its last two games, UC Davis will head to Weber State this Saturday to face the Wildcats in the first Big Sky contest of the year for each squad. Kickoff at Stewart Stadium is set for 4 p.m. Pacific.
