April 9, 2017 NAPA, Calif. - Senior Paige Lee carded a 1-over-par 73 to lead UC Davis in the opening round of the Silverado Showdown women's golf tournament, hosted by Colorado and Oregon at the Silverado Country Club Sunday. The Aggies finished the day in 16th place with a team total of 304, one stroke behind 36th-ranked Texas Tech.
Lee wrapped up her day with a birdie-4 on the 491-yard ninth, moving into a tie for 21st place. She also birdied the 17th and 18th holes to score 1-over 37 on the back nine, then stayed at even par for the remaining nine. This is the fourth straight occasion that Lee has at least tied for her team's low round, which she did throughout all three days at the Anuenue Spring Break Classic. Freshman Christine Danielson recovered from a tough back nine by shooting 1-under 35 for the front nine to close at 3-over-par 75 for the day, taking part in a tie for 39th. Fellow first-years

Samantha Hutchison closed out her first round at 8-over 80 to close out the day in t83rd. No. 3 Stanford leads the team standings a 5-under 283, just one stroke in front of sixth-ranked UCLA. Gonzaga's Bianca Pagdanganan shot a 5-under 67 to lead the individual field of 93 players. The Silverado Showdown, played on the resort's 6176-yard, par-72 North course, continues through Friday.
