Aggies in eighth at Edean Ihlanfeldt

SAMMAMISH, Wash. - Strong first-round results helped the Aggies finish tied for eighth place, alongside Rutgers, through the first 36 holes at the Edean Ihlanfelt Invitational.

UC Davis will return to the Sahalee Country Club, site of the 1998 PGA Championship and the 2016 KPMG LPGA Championship, Wednesday morning for the tournament's final 18 holes when Yoonhee Kim tees off at 8:50 a.m. Live scoring is available via Golfstat by clicking here.

Led by Christine Danielsson's 2-over 74 after completing her first tour of the course, UC Davis remained within striking distance from Washington, the tournament's host, which finished its first 18 holes with a combined team score of 1-over, the lowest posted by any participating team.

Finishing right behind Danielsson was Rei Nakatani, who entered the day's second round at 3-over. Samantha Hutchison and Madison Wood carded first round scores of 4-over and 5-over respectively, with the latter recording a birdie on the 18th hole.

Wood, the lone freshman in UC Davis' lineup, recorded the lowest individual score in the second round by finishing with a 4-over 76.

Entering Wednesday's round, Wood sits tied for 25th among all individual competing at the Eden Ihlanfeldt. Danielsson is tied for 19th through Tuesday's action; Hutchison, Nakatani and Kim will begin their final day in Sammamish tied for 30th, tied for 38th and tied for 61st.

Even though the Aggies shot a combined 314 throughout the second round, they are just eight shots behind Georgetown, which finished its day in fifth place.

Washington was the lone team to shoot under par, and sits atop the leaderboard at 1-under. Brigham Young's Kendra Dalton ended her day at 8-under, six shots lower than the tournament's second-place individual.

UC Davis will compete alongside Rutgers and Seattle through the final round.
