DAVIS, Calif. -- Former UC Davis standout defender Ramon Martin Del Campo has found a new home for the upcoming season, signing on with the USL's Ottawa Fury FC on Tuesday.

A four-year letter winner for the Aggies (2011-14), the 23-year-old Martin Del Campo was a two-time All-Big West Conference selection and an NSCAA All-Far West Region third-team honoree before signing with Costa Rican side Saprissa on June 8, 2015.

He then played the 2016 season for NASL side Puerto Rico FC on loan from Saprissa, playing every minute of 16 starts and finishing with a pair of assists. Martin Del Campo was named to the NASL Team of the Week on Oct. 12 after helping the team shutout Minnesota United FC and his assist against the Carolina Railhawks on Aug. 13 was named the league's Play of the Week.

During his time with the Aggies, Martin Del Campo was one of 19 players who also earned a call up with the United States U23 National Team and played a stint with the San Jose Earthquakes' U23 PDL squad in the summer prior to his senior season, rating among the finalists for the league's Young Player of the Year Award while also earning a spot on the All-PDL and All-Western Conference first teams.

In his four seasons at UC Davis, Martin Del Campo started 69 of his 70 career appearances, finishing with three goals and two assists while taking 44 shots. He scored his first career goal as a sophomore in a draw with San Francisco and added two more scores as a senior on penalty kicks against Saint Mary's and Sacramento State. Entering the 2016 season, Martin Del Campo ranked third during the program's Division I Era with 6,312 career minutes played.

After spending last season in the NASL, the Ottawa side is one of three newcomers to the USL, joining former league mates the Tampa Bay Rowdies and expansion Reno 1868 FC. Ottawa will be one of 15 teams in the Eastern Conference and the league will open the regular season on March 24.
