March 9, 2016 FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- UC Davis senior Lucy Lafranchise finished 36th on the platform during the preliminary rounds to lead the Aggies, while teammate Audrey DeNeffe ended up 44th, as the duo closed out their stay at the 2016 NCAA Zone "E" Diving Championships at the Wall Aquatic Center in Flagstaff, Ariz.
Lafranchise scored a season-best 188.95 in her final event of the weekend en route to her finish, posting her best-ever score on the platform in her four trips to the Zone Championships. Her previous high score on the platform was a 177.30 as a sophomore in 2014, placing her 32nd. Last season, Lafranchise finished a career-best 31st in the event with a score of 163.15.
DeNeffe also posted a career best score on the platform at Zones, finishing with a 169.60 on Wednesday to best her score of 147.30 in her Zone debut last season that placed her 33rd.
Nevada's Krysta Palmer, who won the 1-meter competition on Monday's opening day, took home her second individual win by taking first on the platform on Wednesday, scoring a combined 638.15 in the finals. Arizona State's Mara Alacoboae led the way after the preliminary rounds with a score of 310.40 and finished second overall.
