March 8, 2016 FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- After a historical day on the low board on day one, the UC Davis duo of seniors Lucy Lafranchise and Audrey DeNeffe closed out day two at the 2016 NCAA Zone "E" Diving Championships on the high board on Tuesday morning in Flagstaff, Ariz.
A day after making the finals on the 1-meter, Lafranchise finished with a score of 208.25 on Tuesday, narrowly edged out by her teammate, DeNeffe, who scored 210.10 during the prelims.
Nevada's Sharae Zheng, who finished second on the low board on Monday, won the 3-meter competition with a total score of 698.00. Stanford's Gracia Leydon-Mahoney led the way during the preliminary round with a score of 334.50.
The Aggies conclude their stay in Arizona with the platform competition on Wednesday (March 9) with the preliminary rounds at 11 a.m. and finals at 1:35 p.m.
Lafranchise posted her best finish on the platform last season as a junior, finishing 31st with a score of 163.15, while DeNeffe was close behind, ending the competition in 33rd with a score of 147.30.
