Bruin Diving Invitational - Women's Platform Results

LOS ANGELES -- Sophomore Angelina Proshak and freshman Shafali Goyal posted two of the top-five scores in school history on Sunday afternoon, each finishing among the top 20 in the women's platform competition to close out UC Davis' stay at the Bruin Diving Invitational hosted by UCLA at the Spieker Aquatics Center.

Proshak scored a career-best 202.35 to finish 15th overall among the field, missing out on a spot in the finals by only four points and posting the second-highest score on the platform in school history, trailing only Audrey DeNeffe's mark of 210.65 set in 2014 at the Mizzou Invitational.

The score was also a season high by an Aggie diver this season in the event, topping senior Lucy Lafranchise's score of 181.45 at the Wildcat Diving Invitational in Tucson, Arizona, back on Nov. 22.

Goyal was close behind in 19th place overall, scoring a 190.15 to set a new career high -- and post the fifth-highest score in school history in the event -- besting her previous mark of 158.35 set in Arizona earlier this year. Lafranchise in 28th (169.45), DeNeffe in 29th (168.35), and junior Serena Yee in 33rd (161.35), rounded out the Aggies' group.

UC Davis closes out the home portion of its 2015-16 schedule on Saturday (Jan. 23) at 11 a.m., hosting Mountain Pacific Sports Federation rival UC Santa Barbara at the Schaal Aquatics Center.
