Aug. 4, 2015 Five UC Davis student-athletes, plus the Aggie team as a whole, captured 2015 Academic Awards by the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches For Women, it was announced by that organization Tuesday. Alphabetically, the UC Davis honorees are redshirt freshman Jordan Helgesen, sophomore Rachel Kreager, sophomore Katy Nogaki, junior Cassandra Quebral and senior Lisa Wiktorski.
As a team, the Aggies posted a collective grade-point average of 3.1947, joining 71 other teams to achieve a 3.00 or higher.
To capture NACGC/W academic distinction, gymnasts must have a year-long or cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better. Unlike the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation All-Academic awards program, there is no restriction for academic year or participation in meets.
This is the fourth such award for Quebral, the second for Wiktorski, and the first for each of Helgesen, Kreager and Nogaki. Quebral and Wiktorski both graduated in 2015, with degrees in exercise biology and human development, respectively.
