Wildcat Diving Invitational 3-Meter Results

TUCSON, Ariz. -- UC Davis senior Lucy Lafranchise finished third and freshman Jessica Fernandez placed eighth in the consolation final of the women's 3-meter event on Friday afternoon, closing out day one of competition for the Aggies at the 2015 Wildcat Diving Invitational hosted by the University of Arizona.

Qualifying among the top 16 following prelims, Lafranchise scored a 246.40 -- more than five points better than her preliminary round score -- to place behind Northern Colorado's Taylor Walsh, who won the consolation final with a score of 249.00. Fernandez finished eighth behind her teammate, scoring a 223.00 after ending the preliminary round with a score of 234.00.

Samantha Pickens, the former NCAA 1-meter champion from the University of Arizona, won the individual title competing unattached with a score of 339.95.

Freshman Shaifali Goyal finished 24th in the prelims with a score of 219.85, while sophomore Angelina Proshak was 34th with a score of 205.90. Junior Serena Yee (204.10) in 36th and senior Audrey DeNeffe (194.65) in 39th rounded out the Aggies group.

UC Davis continues competition on Saturday (Nov. 21) with the 1-meter event at 11 a.m. PT. Results will be made available online via the DiveMeets website at https://secure.meetcontrol.com/divemeets/system/meetresultsext.php?meetnum=3647.
