MORAGA, Calif. - After a rain-delayed start that forced Saturday's schedule at the Saint Mary's Fall Invitational to commence at 1 p.m., a majority of matches were able to take place as intended. Two singles matches in the Red Consolation Flight, another two in the White Flight's main draw and a lone match in the Blue Flight that involved UC Davis players were completed.

For singles matches that were halted Saturday evening, action will resume Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. Once those contests are completed, two rounds of doubles and two rounds of singles will begin.

"We may not finish the whole tournament, but we will play as much as we can fit in," said event referee Pua Johnson. "

Partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the low 70s are forecasted for Moraga on Sunday.

"Please don't look for Sunday (results) to be published until possibly after midnight," added Johnson.

Saturday's condensed draw saw Kristy Jorgensen and Layla Sanders force tiebreakers before falling in their respective consolation singles matchups.

In Sanders' case, the senior won the first set 6-1 before dropping the following frame by a 6-3 score.

Lani-Rae Green also battled to a tiebreak in her round of 16 matchup in the White flight before falling in three sets. After falling behind early once her opponent, Genevieve McCloskey captured the first set by a 6-3 margin, Green battled back to win the second set, in convincing fashion, by a 6-1 score.

Frederique Sleiffer and Leilani Tice also fell short in their respective round of 16 and quarterfinals matchups.

Two main draw doubles semifinal matchups highlight the Aggies' Sunday schedule; Sleiffer and Kamila Kecki will battle Sacramento State's Anna Nau and Tori Trylovich, Claire Meunier and Tice will face fellow Big West counterparts Priscilla Garcia and Stacy Yam from UC Santa Barbara.

Times for both UC Davis doubles contests, and all singles matchups scheduled for the final day at the Korth Tennis Complex were unavailable at the time of this release. Once organized, draws, start times and results are available by clicking here.
