LOS ANGELES - UC Davis won six individual events plus a relay to claim wins over host Loyola Marymount and visiting San Diego in a women's collegiate swimming double dual at Burns Aquatics Center Saturday morning. The Aggies captured a 151-111 victory over the Lions while picking up a decisive 167-95 win over the Toreros.

The foursome of Hilary Hunt, Morgan Lee, Megan Leung and Haley Porter opened the day with an overall win in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of one minute, 46.58 seconds. Freshman Marissa Brown made her collegiate 200 free debut with a winning 1:53.32 in the day's third event. Hunt scored the victory in the 100 backstroke at 58.38 in Event 4.
Porter, who finished fourth in the 50 freestyle at 24.44, spoiled LMU's Camille Hopp's attempt to capture a third event win in the 100 free. Porter went 52.40 to outduel Hopp's runner-up time of 53.25. The Aggies' fifth event win went to junior Liliana Alvarez, whose 2:20.12 in the 200 breaststroke beat LMU's Rachel Dekar by a margin of 1.64 seconds.
Junior Samantha Shellem and Brown took the top two places in the 500 freestyle, respectively, to provide UC Davis with a 13-point push in both dual competitions. Shellem went 5:04.05 in the event while Brown finished in 5:05.58. Katie Edwards added a meet win in the 200 individual medley, hitting 2.08.31 to edge teammate and runner-up Sabrina Cochrane (2:09.47) for another 1-2 Aggie finish. With that winning time, Edwards improved on her season best by seven-tenths.
Besides the seven event wins, UC Davis finished 2-3-4 overall and 1-2-3 in the matchup with LMU in the 1,000 free. Samantha Shellem led the way with a 10:21.55 with Bridget Bugbee (10:39.94) and Grace Benefield (10:44.27) touching behind her. The Aggies also scored nine points in the USD side of the dual with Sara Ramos' 58.36 in the 100 fly and the 200 free relay time of 3:33.53 by Bugbee, Shellem, Hunt and Porter.
UC Davis returns home to host Nevada for a dual meet on November 16 then will close out the fall portion of the schedule at the three-day Missouri Invitational from Nov. 29-Dec. 1.
