Junior Riane Woods posted six saves in the second half to lead the Aggie goalkeeping platoon. As a team, UC Davis converted 4 of 6 exclusion opportunities.

Against the host Spartans, Eggert scored the game's first goal on a 6-on-5 chance two minutes into the contest. But SJSU responded with the next three, taking a 3-1 lead early in the second. Senior Dakotah Mohr netted a natural goal to halve the lead to one before Spartan utility Katie Buzzetta converted extra-player chances at 4:54 and 2:15 before the break, giving her team a 5-2 lead at halftime.

Feeney scored less than two minutes into the fourth quarter to bring UC Davis to within a single goal at 6-5. However, senior 2-meter Allie Stewart bumped SJSU's lead back to two on the next possession. The Spartans held at least a two-goal margin for the remainder.
