LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The UC Davis women's swimming and diving team posted convincing wins over Loyola Marymount and San Diego with 177-85 and 169-93 victories, respectively Sunday in a double dual meet at the Burns Aquatics Center.
The Aggies improved to 6-2 on the season with the sweep while Loyola Marymount moved to 1-1 and San Diego dropped to 0-2 in the first dual meets for both schools.
UC Davis got off to a quick start by finishing first and third in the 200 yard medley relay, after the team of Damian, Alvarez, Leung and Foley earned the event win with a time of 1:47.37.
Katie Edwards posted individual event wins in the 200 yard freestyle (1:53.70) and the 400 yard IM (4:30.65). Liliana Alvarez also had multiple wins in breaststroke races, including the 100 yard (1:05.60) and 200 yard (2:21.14) events.
Other individual event winners included Lauren Damian (100 yard backstroke, 58.05), Kayleigh Foley (100 yard freestyle, 51.84) and Sarah Winters (500 yard freestyle, 5:06.28).
The Aggies won three out of four dual meets this weekend after taking a victory over Colorado State on Saturday.
UC Davis will be back in action next weekend, staying on the road to face Fresno State in a dual meet on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 12 p.m.
