FRESNO, Calif. - The UC Davis women's swimming and diving team dominated with 12 event wins, cruising to a 194-106 victory over Fresno State on Saturday at the Fresno State Aquatics Center.
The Aggies improved to 7-2 on the season, having won six meets by a margin of 76 or more. The Bulldogs dropped to 2-3 on the season, as UC Davis handed Fresno State its first loss in the Bulldogs' new aquatics center.
The Aggies started off with a 1-2 finished in the 200 yard medley relay, with Lauren Damian, Morgan Lee, Megan Leung and Jenah Dawson earning the win with a time of 1:46.91.
Following Fresno State wins in the next two events, UC Davis surged for wins in nine out of the next ten events to build a commanding lead.
Kayleigh Foley took individual wins in three events, including the 50-yard freestyle (23.54), 100-yard freestyle (51.47) and 200 yard IM (2:07.84). All three times for Foley were Fresno State pool records. The Aggies also had multiple event wins from Lauren Damian and Liliana Alvarez.
UC Davis will now take a three week break from competition, returning to action on Dec. 1 at the Mizzou Invitational. The next dual meet for the Aggies will be at Pacific on Jan. 14, 2012.
