Aggies Complete First Day at USA Swimming Grand Prix

AUSTIN, Texas - Select members of the UC Davis men's and women's swim teams completed the first day of competition at the USA Swimming Grand Prix at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center in Austin, Texas.

The UC Davis men finished first in the 400 medley relay, clocking in at 3:28.58.

Individually Adam Yen turned in a 19th place finish in the 100 butterfly. In prelims, he clocked in at a season-best time of 50.16 then went on to record a finals time of 57.08.

In the 400 freestyle, Jeremy Smith placed 18th with a final time of 4:07.72 while Josef Stitts was 30th in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.59. Stitts posted a time of 20.94 in the prelims which is second-fastest this season amongst all Aggie men.

Action continues Friday at the USA Swimming Grand Prix. Events include the 400 IM, 100 breast, 100 back, 200 free and 200 medley relay.
