DAVIS, Calif. - UC Davis swept its three doubles matchups and captured all six singles wins in straight sets to earn a 7-0 victory over Weber State during non-conference women's tennis action at the Marya Welch Tennis Center Friday. The Aggies improve to 6-7 on the year, claiming their fourth straight dual win.
The No. 1 doubles tandem of seniors Desiree Stone and Herzyl Legaspi posted UC Davis' most decisive win, taking down an 8-2 matchup against Wildcat seniors Elsje Beneke and Greyce Farias. The Aggies' Dahra Zamudio and Ellie Edles teamed up for an 8-5 win over Brittiny Moore and Caroline Drugge, while the Lauren Curry/Noelle Eades pairing battled to a tiebreaker to pick up an 8-7 victory against Weber State's Keya Jenkins/Kassia Adamson team.
No singles decision required a third set, with Edles notching a 6-0, 6-0 win over Drugge in the No. 5 match. Curry and Moore were the last match on the courts, as the two clashed in a tiebreaker during the 7-6 opening set. However, Curry found her stride in the second set en route to a 6-1 win.
Aggie sophomore Noelle Eades also posted a double-bagel victory in exhibition singles, dispatching Weber State's Markay Mullen in a 6-0, 6-0 triumph on the Welch Center's south courts.
UC Davis resumes Big West Conference action with a 2 p.m. home match against Cal State Fullerton on Saturday.
