DAVIS, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton scored six runs in the final three innings to overcome a 2-1 deficit on its way to a 7-2 victory over UC Davis, Saturday, in a Big West Conference softball game at La Rue Field. Kelly Harman went 2-for-4 and drove in two runs for UC Davis (20-19, 4-5 Big West) while Erin Emde finished 2-for-3. Francesca Gonzales and Nicole Johnson each homered for Cal State Fullerton (19-17, 6-2 Big West), which capped off a sweep of the three-game series.
Gonzales had an RBI-single in the top of the first to put the Titans up 1-0 before the Aggies came back in the bottom of the inning with two runs. With one out, Julie Stauder singled before advancing to third on an Emde double. With two outs, Harman provided the timely hit with a two-run single to give UC Davis a 2-1 lead.
It would stay that way until the fifth inning when Gonzales tied the game with a solo shot to left center. The Titans came back with four more runs in the sixth inning. Johnson's three-run homer with two-outs capped off the inning and gave Cal State Fullerton a 6-2 lead.
The Titans outhit the Aggies, 12-8. Alex Holmes, Bianca Castillo and Rachel Miller also had hits for UC Davis.
The Aggies are back in action April 18 when they begin a three-game series at UC Riverside. A doubleheader is scheduled for that Saturday followed by the finale on April 19.
