AUSTIN, TEXAS - Matt Herman earned an NCAA "B" Consideration time and a fourth-place finish in the 1650 freestyle as the UC Davis men's swimming team finished fourth on the final day of the Texas Invitational Saturday in Austin, Texas. Led by freshman Bridget Bugbee's tenth place finish in the 1650 free, the Aggie women finished ninth.
Herman recorded a time of 15:34.90 in the 1650 free while Bugbee clocked in at 17:19.90. Bugbee's mark currently stands as the second fastest time in the Big West Conference.
Adam Borchard finished seventh for the men in the event with a time of 15:50.27 while Reid Hartz clocked in at 16:00.25 to place tenth.
Scott Weltz placed fifth in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 1:57.61. The mark was an NCAA "B" Consolation time, Weltz's fourth of the weekend, and currently stands as the top time in the Big West Conference by over eight seconds.
In the 200 butterfly, Daniel Donnelly finished sixth for the Aggie men with a season-best time of 1:49.13. The time was just shy of an NCAA "B" Consideration time, but stands as the current top mark in the conference.
Arizona swept the competition and took home the men's and women's team titles.
UC Davis returns to competition Jan. 16 when Pacific visits Schaal Aquatics Center for a Big West Conference dual meet matchup.
