Men's Swimming Concludes Season At Short Course

AUSTIN, Texas. - The UC Davis men's swimming team concluded its 2007-08 season Sunday at the Bevo Invitational at the Jamail Texas Swimming Center. The invite is a collection of short course time trials for those swimmers trying to make an NCAA-qualifying time.

Nik Kemp, the lone Aggie senior competing in the trials, capped his Aggie career was fourth-place time of 21.39 in the 50-yard freestyle. Junior Adam Pluemer finished fifth in 22.16.

Freshmen Adam Borchard and Kyle Anderson also competed for UC Davis. Borchard went 1:43.89 in the 200 free while Anderson had a 59.07 in the 100 breaststroke.

UC Davis swimming and diving concluded its first official Division I season with a second-place finish for the men and third-place showing from the women at the Big West Conference Championships. A total of three Aggies hit NCAA consideration times, but were not selected to compete at the championships.

Bevo Invitational (UC Davis results only)

50-Yard Freestyle: 4. Nik Kemp, 21.39; 5. Adam Pluemer, 22.16.

200-Yard Freestyle: 1. Adam Borchard, 1:43.89.

100-Yard Breaststroke: 1. Kyle Anderson, 59.07.
