DAVIS, Calif. - UC Davis evened its record with a 7-0 win over visiting Weber State, Friday afternoon, in a non-conference women's tennis match at the Marya Welch Tennis Center. The Aggies swept doubles to claim the first point of the contest and won five of their six singles matches in straight sets. Heryzl Legaspi won for the seventh time in her last eight matches for UC Davis (5-5).

In doubles, Robin Guier and Randi Schuler teamed at No. 1 to defeat Inalise Pienaar and Ashley Schapper, 8-5. Anita Athavale and Desiree Stone cruised past Keya Adamson and Gabriela Venditto, 8-1, at No. 2. The Aggies also picked up a win at No. 3 from Legaspi and Emma Shapiro.

Schuler was a winner at No. 1 singles with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Venditto. The win gives the Big West Conference athlete of the week three straight. Legaspi won her third consecutive match with a 6-3, 6-2 win at no. 4 over Greyce Farias. Stone, Shapiro and Kaitlin Callan were also winners in straight sets. At No. 2, Guier battled back from a 7-6 loss to Pienaar in the first set to win the second set, 6-1. With the team win already clinched, the two squared off in a super-tiebreaker, which Guier won, 10-3.

With the loss, Weber State dropped to 2-7.

UC Davis continues its homestand Saturday when it hosts UC San Diego at 11 a.m.
