UPCOMING OPPONENTS
The Aggies will play host this Saturday to the Stanford Cardinal in a 1 p.m. match-up at Schaal Aquatics Center. Stanford is currently ranked No. 2 in the nation and has posted a season record of 11-2 with its only losses coming to No. 1 USC who they will face for the third time this season on Thursday. Stanford faced UC Irvine and Long Beach State last weekend and posted a 5-2 win over the Anteaters and a very decisive 14-5 win over the 49ers. Stanford is led this season by freshman Lauren Silver, who has posted a team-high 25 goals. The Stanford roster also boasts several U.S. Junior National team members, three All-Americans and 11 letterwinners from the Cardinal's 2005 squad that captured second place at NCAA championships. Since 1998, head coach John Tanner's first year with the Cardinal, Stanford has posted a 16-0 record in matches against the Aggies.

Sunday's game at Pacific has been cancelled. UC Davis is still scheduled to host the Tigers on Friday, April 21 at 4 p.m. at Schaal Aquatics Center.

HEAD COACH Jamey Wright
On Stanford: "I look at Stanford as a great opportunity for us. You can say `oh they are one of the top two teams in the nation', but we have played them tough in the past. I think this is a great opportunity for us to play a better team and better players, and that helps make us better as a team."

"We just have to play possession by possession, and try to win the first quarter and then try to win the next quarter. We can't give them easy goals and that is what we have been working on this week: transition defense and counter attacks. I think that is going to be the big part. We need to limit their fast break opportunities because that gives us a chance. We also need to maximize our six-on-five opportunities. Upsets happen because you play a perfect game, so we have to play them well."
