LAS VEGAS, Nev. - UC Davis concluded its play, Saturday, at the UNLV Louisville Slugger Desert Classic with losses to Portland State and UNLV. Against the Vikings, the Aggies nearly overcame an early six-run deficit only to fall 8-7. Meanwhile, the Rebels cruised past the Aggies, 10-0, in five innings. After a groundout by Sheldon drove in another run, O'Neill later scored with two outs on an error to make it 8-7.
The Aggies had one more chance to tie the game in the top of the seventh when they put two on with one out, but PSU's Michelle Hext closed the door with a pair of strikeouts to end the game.
