BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The UC Davis women's swimming and diving team captured its second win of the weekend in a road dual against Cal State Bakersfield with a 128-108 victory over the Roadrunners Saturday afternoon at Bakersfield's Hillman Aquatics Center. The Aggie men suffered their second narrow loss in two days as they fell to the Roadrunners 126-115.
The UC Davis men got an early lead against the Roadrunners when both of Bakersfield's relay teams were disqualified from the meet opening 400 medley relay, giving the Ags a 22-point jump on the competition. Bakersfield was able to make a come back in the following individual events and entered the final event, the 400 freestyle relay with a slight lead. The Roadrunners were victorious in the event and captured the dual win.
On the women's side, the Aggies won 7 of the 13 events. Yuka Kobayashi grabbed two top finishes in the meet with a first in the 50 freestyle as well as the 500 freestyle. Jennifer Ginsberg was also a multiple event winner with a first in the 200 freestyle and 100 freestyle events.
The Aggies will be in action next at home against Pacific on Saturday, Jan. 28 at Schaal Aquatics Center. The meet will start at noon.
