Previously an assistant at Ohio State, UC Riverside and San Diego State, Mike Terrill joined the Aggie women's volleyball staff in 2014 as a defensive coordinator for head coach Dan Conners.
In Terrill's most recent position, he handled defensive strategy, scouting and recruiting while working with the outside hitters and liberos at Ohio State. In his lone season under Geoff Carlston, the Buckeyes ranked as high as No. 12 in the AVCA Top 25 poll and ranked among the Big Ten Conference's team leaders in digs per set. Terrill also helped bring in a recruiting class ranked 22nd nationally by Volleyball magazine.
Before his stint in Columbus, Terrill coached six seasons in his home state of California. He served as a volunteer assistant at Cal State Monterey Bay in 2007 and 2008, held a full-time assistant position at San Diego State in 2009 and 2010, then joined the UCR staff for its 2011 and 2012 seasons. During his tenure with the Highlanders, Terrill also coached at Pacific Juniors VBC, serving as the head mentor for the 16-2 squad.
In 2015, Terrill guided the Five Starz VBC 16-1 team to the National division gold medal at the Junior Nationals in New Orleans. His squad went 11-0 and surrendered only one set -- to MAVBC Travel 16 in the title match -- for a glittering 22-1 set record. Current Aggie setter Sophia Mar served as one of Terrill's assistants during the championship run.
Terrill played outside hitter for USC, where he completed his bachelor's degree in psychology in 2006. He added a master's in kinesiology from San Diego State in 2011.
