Katrina Reeves, a Granite Bay, Calif., native who most recently served as an assistant coach at Central Michigan, enters her first season as an assistant coach with the UC Davis women's lacrosse program in 2021-22.

Reeves joined the Chippewas as a graduate assistant in 2017 before being promoted to the staff’s top assistant coach prior to the 2019 campaign as the program’s defensive coordinator and goalkeeper coach, while also coordinating the program’s recruiting efforts across Canada, the Midwest, the East Coast, California, and Colorado.
Competing in both the Southern Conference and the Mid-American Conference during her tenure in Mount Pleasant, Mich., Reeves helped coach midfielder Jocelyne Lemay to the program’s first-ever SOCON Player of the Year award in 2019, while mentoring a total of nine all-conference first team honorees, 12 second-team selections, and a pair of SOCON All-Freshman Team choices.
During a 2021 season that saw Central Michigan finish with nine wins and a second-place conference finish, goalkeeper Sierra Savage was a second-team All-MAC selection — one of seven all-conference selections for the Chippewas — leading a group that combined to post a .462 save percentage for the year. CMU netminder Dominique Hamman was twice named to the All-SOCON second team in 2018 and 2019, helping the team finish with a .496 save percentage during the latter.
In addition to her on-field and recruiting duties, Reeves also headed up the program’s film and statistical analysis operations, coordinated team travel, served as the program’s liaison with the academic services department, assisted with camps and clinics, and helped spearhead the team’s community outreach efforts, among other duties.
Her other forays into coaching include working with the West Coast Starz, Tenacity/Bear Lacrosse, and the Coronado Youth Lacrosse clubs, as well as serving as the San Marcos Eagles Middle School Goalkeeper Coach, during the summer months. She has also worked a number camps as a coach in the Midwest and on the West Coast.
A standout goalkeeper at Mountain Pacific Sports Federation rival San Diego State from 2014-17, Reeves left the Aztecs’ program as the leader in career saves and ground balls, setting a then-program record with a .429 save percentage as a senior en route to all-conference and all-tournament team honors. A three-time MPSF Defensive Player of the Week, she also starred in the classroom as a 2017 IWLCA Academic Honor Squad selection and was a four-time San Diego State Scholar-Athlete Award winner.
During her time as a collegian, Reeves was also a member of the Spanish National team, earning a spot on the 2015 All-European Team following the ELF Women’s Lacrosse European Championship, and representing the country at the FIL Rathbones Women’s Lacrosse World Cup in England in 2017, earning team MVP honors.
A four-year letter winner at Granite Bay High School, Reeves was a four-time Sacramento Valley Lacrosse Conference selection and was named the league MVP in her sophomore and senior prep seasons. She earned U.S. Lacrosse All-American and academic All-America honors in her final two seasons, leading the Grizzlies to a SVLC title as a junior. She also earned three varsity letters in basketball.
