• 2018, 2019 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation All-Academic Team
2020: Appeared in four of the Aggies’ six matches during the shortened 2020 season, making three starts… Played a total of 178 minutes, collecting eight ground balls and six caused turnovers, the latter ranking sixth in the MPSF… Went the distance and played all 60 minutes in games against Arizona State (2/8) and Georgetown (3/9)… Picked up a season-high three ground balls against George Mason (3/12)… Added a season-best three caused turnovers in the season opener against the Sun Devils.
2019: Started all 17 matches on the season… Finished with two shots — single attempts against Bucknell (March 10) and San Diego State (April 28)… Added 16 ground balls and finished second on the team with 18 caused turnovers… Her three ground balls against Central Michigan (March 8) were a season high, as were her four caused turnovers against Mercer (Feb. 17).
2018: Broke out as key member of defensive unit, starting all 14 games... Tallied 24 ground balls with 5 caused turnovers... Recorded first career assist (to Taylor Cuenin) in MPSF title game at San Diego State (4/29/18)... Scooped up season-best 5 GBs vs. Harvard (2/25)... Had 2 GBs and season-high 2 CTs at Stanford (4/5).
2017: Appeared in six games as a reserve... Totaled 3 ground balls and a caused turnover... Had 2 GBs and her lone steal vs. Presbyterian (3/1).
NAPA HS ’16: Lettered in soccer and tennis but played only club lacrosse (school does not sponsor the sport)... Scored 101 goals in 20 games in final two seasons with Napa Force LC... Four-time team MVP and captain... Previously a member of BearLax U15’s fourth-place team at US Lacrosse WNT... Member of Napa Valley Register’s All-County squad and finalist for both Defensive Player of the Year and overall Player of the Year in soccer... Posted 16-3 record in tennis, advancing to Monitcello Empire League tourney... Earned school’s Tribal Pride award every year plus Indian of the Year (athletics, academics, community work) in 2014.
PERSONAL: Born in Napa, Calif.... Majoring in viticulture & enology... Parents are Chris & Paige Dearden... Chris also graduated from UC Davis VEN program and now owns Dearden Winery... Older brother, Samuel (22), is a senior at UC Santa Barbara... Also would like to play innertube water polo at UC Davis, a sport invented on this very campus.
