  • Title
    Volunteer Assistant Coach
A four-year letterwinner at UCLA and a former member of the USA Junior National Team, Bret Lathrope has joined the Aggie program as a volunteer assistant coach in 2014.

Originally from Moraga, California and Miramonte High, Lathrope scored 56 goals during his Bruin career from 2009 through 2012. He also recorded 27 assists as a junior, during which he started 28 of his team[apos]s 29 games. UCLA made the NCAA title game in three of his four seasons, falling to archrival USC in each. In his collegiate finale, Lathrope scored two goals in the 2012 championship.

Lathrope earned 2008 All-America and All-North Coast Section honors for water polo powerhouse Miramonte, while starring on the club scene for Lamorinda WPC. He also played for the Pacific Zone squad from 2005-09, helping that team to the 2006 national championship.

Lathrope hails from an aquatic family: both his sister, Allison (Claremont-McKenna) and his brother, Scott (Stanford) were four-year collegiate letterwinners in swimming.
