Captured All-Ventura County and All-Academic Ventura County honors... Did not allow a sack in his senior year... Also made Southern Section All-Academic squad... Nominated for Wendy[apos]s High School Heisman Award in 2003... Twice chosen on CBS Sportsline All-West Region squad... Team went perfect 14-0 and won state Div. II title in 2003... Named Lineman of the Year... Won National Football Foundation & Hall of Fame accolades... Also lettered in basketball (forward) and track & field (jumps).

PERSONAL: Born in Simi Valley, Calif.... Majoring in sociology... Parents are Gary & Judy Gatena... Proudest personal accomplishment was going through military training (at U.S. Air Force Academy).
