2016: Saw action in ten games, earning the start in nine... Recorded eight receptions as tight end for 162 yards and two touchdowns... His touchdowns came against Southern Oregon and Sacramento State... Recorded a season-high 62 receiving yards at home versus Weber State including a season-long 52-yard catch... Averaged 20.2 yards per catch and 16.2 yards per game... Closed his season with a 14-yard touchdown catch against Sacramento State in the Causeway Classic.

2015: Started five of the nine games played... Finished season with 10 catches for 117 yards and two touchdowns... Caught his first career TD on a 25-yard pass from QB Ben Scott in the third quarter against Northern Arizona, stretching the Aggies' lead to 31-17... Picked up his second scoe on an 18-yarder late in the third against rival Sacramento State, helping UC Davis to a 28-14 lead... Had three catches at Northern Colorado and two against North Dakota.

2014: Appeared only in Ft. Lewis game... Did not record any stats.

2013: On roster but did not see action.

2012: Redshirted.

PINOLE VALLEY HS '12: Earned First Team All-Alameda Contra Consta League honors in 2010 and 2011, competing in the North Coast Section... Helped lead the Spartans to an 11-1-1 overall record in 2010, including a perfect 6-0 mark and a league title in the ACCAL.

PERSONAL: Born in San Francisco, Calif.... Communication major... Parents are John and Tina Winston... Has two siblings; John and Elijah... Chose UC Davis because it is close to home and provides a great education... Lists Vernon Davis as his sports hero and Tupac Shakur as his nonsports hero... Is related to Bill Russell (great cousin).
