2019: Appeared only in season opener at Cal (8/31)... Recorded one stat, but a key one: recovered a Pat Miller-forced fumble on the opening kickoff, helping to give UC Davis its 7-0 start... Injured in the second week, granted a medical hardship to restore the year of eligibility.

2018: Qualified for a redshirt by competing in four games or fewer, as permissible by the NCAA and its new policy... Competed in three games: at Stanford (9/15), at home against Idaho (9/22) and Northern Arizona (11/3).

SAN CLEMENTE HS '18: Seventy-eight of 126 tackles recorded throughout his last two seasons were solo… Also intercepted nine passes and forced two fumbles throughout that same timespan… Posted a team-high six interceptions as a junior… Two weeks after San Clemente HS won its first Southern Section championship, a Shippy-led defense defeated Del Oro to capture a state title… Averaged 5.3 tackles per game as a junior, and increased that mark to 6.6 tackles per game as a senior… Shippy is a key reason why the Tritons’ defense is recognized as one of the best in the state during the 2016 and ’17 seasons… Caught two touchdown passes, and returned an interception for another TD last year… Also competed for SCHS' track and field team.

PERSONAL: One of Ann and Kurt Shippy's four children... Hannah and Tessa are his older sisters, Nicolas is his older brother.
