Wes Nurse returned to the UC Davis coaching staff in early 2015 after previously coaching with the Aggies during the 2011 season. While with the Aggies that season, he coached standout cornerback Jonathan Perkins who earned All-Great West Conference second-team honors after intercepting two pass, broke up a team-high 10 passes and blocked a kick. Perkins also had 25 total tackles.

After UC Davis, Nurse went on to coach cornerbacks at the University of North Dakota – also a member of the Big Sky Conference – for two seasons. Nurse spent last season at Minnesota-Crookston where he worked with the running backs and tight ends.

Nurse played collegiately at Boise State where he was a three-year starting safety, earning All-Western Athletic Conference first-team honors and team MVP accolades in 2003. He was later a graduate assistant for the Broncos from 2005-07 under former Aggies Dan Hawkins and Chris Petersen for two years. He's also coached at The Citadel and The Military College of South Carolina.

Nurse was a standout defensive back for Boise State from 1999-2003, starting for three seasons while earning a pair of All-Western Athletic Conference honors. He was a team captain, defensive MVP and helped the Broncos to four conference titles.

Nurse graduated from Boise State with his degree in marketing. He and his wife, Valarie, are parents to three children - Jaiden, Trevyn and Caysen.
