Lucas Govan is entering his second season at UC Davis as the Director of Player Personnel.
This past season he served as the assistant offensive line coach at the University of San Diego as well as the Tight Ends/Fullback coach during the spring.
Prior to the University of San Diego, Govan came from Whittier College where he was the Run Game Coordinator and Offensive Line Coach for the Poets. He also was the teams academic coordinator and director of community outreach. Govan coached 2 All-Conference players, including one player who signed to play professionally in Finland with the Helsinki Wolverines.
In the Spring 2021, Govan accepted the position as Quarterbacks Coach at Feather River College the where he coached for the 2021 Spring season. Sending 2 quarterbacks to 4 year programs
Govan started as an Offensive Line Graduate Assistant during the 2017 season following his senior year at Humboldt State. The following year, he was promoted to serve as the Offensive Line Coach for the 2018 and coached two All-Conference players.
After parting from Humboldt State, he coached at McKinleyville High School serving as the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator, Special Teams Coordinator, and Offensive Line / Tight Ends Coach for both the Varsity and Junior Varsity Teams during the 2019 season.
A native of Monterey County, Govan played high school football at Carmel High and was an All-League, All-County, and All-State selection throughout his high school career. He continued his football career at Humboldt State University where he played Offensive Line and was a multiple All-Conference, All-Region, and a 2x All-American selection and played on the 2016 GNAC Championship team.
In addition to coaching football, Govan received his M.S. in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Adapted Physical Education in 2019.
