Former Oregon State team captain Drew Kell joined the UC Davis football staff as a defensive qualitiy control staffer in the winter of 2021.
Originally from Hilo, Hawai'i, Kell starred for Crescent Valley High School in Corvallis while his older brother, Devon, played for the Beavers. He joined the OSU program as defensive back, and played from 2015-16 and 2018-19. Kell logged 52 tackles in his final two seasons, while earning Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention in the classroom. He graduated with a degree in public health, health promotion and health behavior.
Besides working with youth football while an undergrad at Oregon State, Kell made his entry into the coaching world on the baseball diamond, first heading the CVHS junior varsity squad (2019) then manning the helm of the Washington Rush summer program (2020). He also served as a manager and instructor for Base By Pros Academy during that span. Additionally, Kell does freelance work as a graphic design outfit called "Drew's Kreations."
In August of 2020, Kell married the former Kaytianna McMillan, a five-time All-Pac-12 gymnast at Oregon State from 2014-17. The couple relocated to Davis when Kaytianna was named as an assistant coach for the Aggie women's gymnastics team.
