Devon McPeek joined UC Davis Athletics in 2023, working primarily with the defensive backs. His impact with the Aggies is already apparent as they finished the season ranked 17th nationally in rushing yards allowed with 108.9 YPG and 13th nationally in 3rd down percentage at 32%. UC Davis football led the Big Sky conference and ranked 22nd nationally in forced turnovers with 19. Additionally, McPeek helped to coach a duo of All-Big Sky players in the secondary, Rex Connors (2nd) and Jehiel Budgett (HM). 

McPeek began his career in 2017 as the defensive graduate assistant working with the defensive backs for his alma mater, Northern Arizona University. He helped the Lumberjacks to a spot in the FCS Playoffs, the sixth appearance in program history. While McPeek was at Northern Arizona, the Lumberjacks finished 19th nationally in passing yards allowed with 174.3 YPG and 14th in interceptions with 16. The lumberjacks took four of those back to the house for touchdowns, which was tied for the most interception return scores in the country. McPeek helped coach a quartet of All-Big Sky players in the secondary, Wes Sutton (1st), Khalil Dorsey (2nd), Kam'ron Johnson (2nd), and Maurice Davison (HM).

McPeek served in the United States Navy as a Naval Aviator and Naval Supply Corps Officer from 2018-2023 before returning to coaching, most recently serving onboard USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) as the Aviation Supply Officer deploying to 5th and 6th Fleet Area of Operations during Operation Freedom Sentinel and Operation Inherent Resolve. 

McPeek graduated from Northern Arizona with a bachelor's degree in exercise sceince in 2016 and went on to obtain a master's degree in educational leadership with an emphasis in community college and higher education.
