2021 FALL: Started all 12 games for the Aggies… Second on the team with 73 tackles and paced the squad with 51 solo stops… Won the team’s T. PALMER MOODY AWARD for the Most Outstanding Sophomore… Broke up six passes and posted two interceptions… Forced a fumble and added a fumble recovery… Started the season with 10 total tackles and forced a fumble on the road in the win at Tulsa (9/2)… Picked off two passes and recorded three tackles against Dixie State (9/18)… Had four tackles and recovered a fumbled against Idaho (10/2)… Recorded 10 tackles in the FCS Playoffs against South Dakota State (11/27).
2021 SPRING: Won T. PALMER MOODY AWARD as team’s outstanding sophomore of the year... Started all five games at field safety... Ranked 3rd on team, 2nd among Aggie secondary, with 26 tackles (18 solos, 8 assists)... Also tallied an interception and three break-ups... Posted first collegiate pick on final play of win vs. Idaho State (3/27), snaring a Ty Vander Waal attempt at his own 33... Both PBUs came in season opener at Idaho (3/6).
2019: Started 5 of 12 games, platooning with Tiger Garcia at safety... Posted 38 tackles (28 solos, 10 assists) with 1.5 TFLs and a pass breakup... Lone PBU came on a 3rd-and-8 attempt from Trey Lance to Christian Watson at North Dakota State (9/21)... Had season-high 6 tackles in both that game and subsequent week vs. Montana (9/28)... Also notched 5 stops at Cal (8/31) and vs. Weber State (10/26).
2018: Qualified for a redshirt by competing in four games or fewer, as permissible by the NCAA and its new policy... YG 5 HUNNID Award recipient… Competed in two games: at home against Northern Arizona (11/3) and at Eastern Washington (12/8)… Recorded a solo tackle in that FCS quarterfinal game against the Eagles.
CENTENNIAL HS '18: Earned Big VIII first team honors after leading Corona Centennial to an 11-2 overall record and a conference championship after posting an undefeated league record… As one of his team’s defensive backs and wide receivers, Venable finished the season with 12 touchdowns, five interceptions, and 86 tackles… Played both positions throughout his junior year, and finished with 13 TDs, five interceptions and 165 tackles… That individual effort led to MVP, all-league, All-CIF and all-area first team awards… Venable’s teams advanced to the section semifinals in 2016 and ’17… Earned MVP accolades as a sophomore by finishing with five picks… Two-sport athlete also played volleyball throughout his high school career.
PERSONAL: Plans to major in managerial economics and minor in communication... Chose UC Davis because of its coaching staff.
