2021 FALL: Earned the team’s TONY KAY’S AWARD for most improved player on offense… Appeared in 11 games and made one start at receiver… Caught eight passes for 65 yards and a touchdown… Caught two passes for 20 yards, including a 16-yard touchdown against Northern Arizona (11/6)… Hauled in two passes for 19 yards in the FCS Playoff game at South Dakota State (11/27).
2021 SPRING: Played in three games at receiver and on special teams... Posted first Aggie reception against Cal Poly (3/20), hauling in a 7-yarder from Hunter Rodrigues and setting up Lance Babb’s ensuing TD catch... Later snared a 22-yarder from Gunnor Faulk in final drive against Mustangs.
2019: Appeared in six games, mostly on special teams.
2018: Qualified for a redshirt by competing in four games or fewer, as permissible by the NCAA and its new policy... UC Davis debut took place at home against Idaho (9/22).
OAK RIDGE HS ’18: Lettered in both football and soccer... Played receiver, defensive back, kicker, punter and punt returner on the grid... Twice earned Sacramento Bee
All-Metro honors, including first-team honors as a senior... Also captured all-state, All-NorCal and All-Sac-Joaquin Section accolades that year... Posted 78 receptions for 1,163 yards on offensive, five picks on defense... Snared All-Sierra Foothill League distinction as a junior, thanks to 41-for-889 receiving on offense; 5 INTs, 9 PBUs and 5 TFLs on defense... Played right wing for soccer team, including nine years of club ball.
PERSONAL: Born in El Dorado Hills, Calif... Psychology major... Parents are Eric & Julie Poerio... Older brother, Collin, attends Sierra College... Chose UC Davis because of the "great coaches and people heading in the right direction... it's exactly where I want to be to grow and learn."
