2013-14: NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS QUALIFIER in the 100 and 200 breast... MOUNTAIN PACIFIC SPORTS FEDERATION ALL-ACADEMIC SELECTION... ARTHUR ASHE, JR. SPORTS SCHOLAR... MPSF CHAMPION in both the 100 and 200 breast... Won the MPSF title in the 100 breaststroke for the fourth consecutive season -- the first time in the history of the league that a student-athlete has won the same event four consecutive seasons... Set a pool record and met the NCAA 'B' standard in the 200 breaststroke at the MPSF Championships with a time of 2:12.64... ALL-MPSF FIRST TEAM in the 100 and 200 breast... ALL-MPSF SECOND TEAM in the 200 and 400 medley relays... Named the MPSF/Turbo Athlete of the week on Nov. 27 after top-five finishes in the 100 and 200 breaststroke and swimming a leg of the school-record 400 medley relay at the Mizzou Invitational... Set a Schaal Aquatics Center record in the 200 breaststoke with a time of 2:16.08 against UC Santa Barbara and was a member of the pool-record 200 medley relay team (1:42.52) during the same meet on on Jan. 24... Swam a season-best 1:00.49 in the 100 breaststroke at the Mizzou Invitational, meeting the NCAA 'B' standard... Finished 36th in the 100 breaststroke at the NCAA Championships with a time of 1:01.25... Finished 46th in the 200 breaststroke at the NCAAs wih a time of 2:12.97 -- her second fastest time of the season behind her MPSF title-winning swim.

2011-12: NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS QUALIFIER (100 and 200 breast)... MID-MAJOR ALL-AMERICAN by CollegeSwimming.com... MPSF CHAMPION in 100 breast (1:00.80)... ALL-MPSF FIRST TEAM in 100 breast, ALL-MPSF SECOND TEAM in 200 breast and 200 medley relay... Placed 4th in 200 breast (2:14.19) and placed 2nd as part of 200 medley relay (1:41.25) at conference meet... Hit season bests of 1:00.71 and 2:12.72 at Missouri Invitational in early December, surpassing [apos]B[apos] standards to NCAA Championship for second straight year... Earned MPSF All-Academic.

2010-11: NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS QUALIFIER (100 and 200 breast)... MPSF FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR... MID-MAJOR ALL-AMERICAN by CollegeSwimming.com... MPSF CHAMPION in 100 breast (1:00.47) and 200 breast (2:12.04), both `B[apos] qualifiers to nationals... Entering 2012-13, ranks 2nd in school history behind former teammate Heidi Kucera in each event... Also swam breaststroke leg of MPSF-champion 400 medley relay (school-record 3:39.48)... Finished 23rd at NCAA Championships in 100 breast at 1:00.96, less than a half-second from consols; then took 45th in 200 breast (2:14.15)... Posted 17th-place 2:06.85 in 200 IM at conference, then 9th in Aggie record book... Broke 1:03 barrier in 100 breast six times, starting with Schaal Aquatics Center-record 1:02.79 in fall dual with San Jose State... Swam better than 2:15 in 200 breast four times, beginning with 2:14.21 in prelim heat of Texas Invite.

SIR FRANCIS DRAKE HS [apos]10: Completed a senior campaign in which she set the Marin County Athletic League record in the 100 breaststroke, earning All-American status with a time of 1:02.28... League champion in 100 breast in 2007-08 season... Competed for the Marin Pirates club team for four years... Set meet record of 1:10.24 in the 100 breaststroke at California/Nevada Section Championships to win the event... US Open and Senior Nationals qualifier.

PERSONAL: Born in San Francisco, Calif.... Majoring in spanish... Daughter of Domingo and Alice Alvarez... Youngest of four siblings, including Nina, Elena and identical twin sister Julia.
