His three, hit with eight seconds left against UC Riverside (3/9), gave the Aggies a one-point lead and completed a comeback that erased a 12-point deficit; led all players with 19 points by hitting 4 of 6 baskets from three, and sank all three at the stripe... Three of his four baskets at CSUN (2/23) were threes; he also hit all four free throws... Collected a career-high nine rebounds at Cal State Fullerton (2/21)... As was the case when he set his previous high, vs. Weber State at the Great Alaska Shootout the previous season, Mooney enjoyed a perfect shooting performance in the Aggie’s season opener: 5-for-5 overall, 2-for-2 from three and 2-for-2 at the free throw line.
2016-17: Finished with a season/career-high three steals vs. William Jessup (12/17)... Set a new season high with three assists at Idaho (12/3)... Recorded a perfect shooting stat line — 4-for-4 FG, 2-for-2 3FG, 2-for-2 FT — and finished with a season-high 12 points vs. Weber State (11/24) at the Great Alaska Shootout... Nailed a three, forced a steal and scored on a breakaway layup, as part of UC Davis’ first half 18-0 run vs. Northern Arizona (11/13).

Teammates selected him as their captain for the 2014-15 season... Shot 46 pct. from distance and 83 percent from the stripe as a senior... Shortly after receiving first team all-area accolades from Pioneer Sports, Mooney, a Magna Cum Laude graduate, received an invitation to compete in the Chicago Catholic League All-Star Game... In that showcase, he scored 25 points for his East squad.
PERSONAL: One of Angela and Michael Mooney's five children... Daniel and Matt are his older brothers, Mary Kate and Rachel are his younger sisters... If he could play another sport at UC Davis, he would choose baseball... Watching movies, bowling and playing table tennis are his hobbies... Chose UC Davis because of the players, coaches, outstanding academic programs, the team and school's culture.
