2019: Started all 17 games for the Aggies...Scored against Ball State to help UC Davis to a victory on Sept. 5...Scored the game-winner against Central Michigan on Oct. 8 at Aggie Field Hockey Facility...Also registered assists against Richmond (Sept. 22) and Cal (Oct. 18)...Fired 12 shots on the season, seven of which were on goal...Finished the season tied for third on the team in points with six points on two goals and two assists. 

2018: AMERICA EAST ACADEMIC HONOR ROLL SELECTION… NFHCA ACADEMIC SQUAD SELECTION… Appeared in all 19 games on the schedule, making 15 starts… Began her 2018 campaign on a high note, helping the Aggies to a thrilling last-second victory over Providence (Aug. 28) when she chipped in the game-winner with five seconds remaining in regulation… Also scored against La Salle and Ball State, and logged the Aggies’ lone goal against Vermont… Tallied her second career assist in the Aggies’ 3-0 win over Davidson (Sept. 9)Led the Aggies with an impressive .733 on-goal shot percentage, with 11 of her 15 shots forcing a save… Registered a season-high two shots on goal on three occasions: Providence (Aug. 28), La Salle (Sept. 8), Ball State (Sept. 24)… Finished the season ranked second on the team in points with nine points on four goals and one assist.

2017: ALL-AMERICA EAST COMMISSIONER’S HONOR ROLL... NFHCA NATIONAL ACADEMIC SQUAD SELECTION… One of three Aggies to start all 18 games on the schedule… Recorded her first career goal against America East Conference foe, California, on Sept. 29 before scoring the Aggies’ lone goal against No. 21 Saint Joseph’s on Oct. 6… Ended the regular season tied for third on the team with four total points and tied for second with a pair of goals. 

2016: Started two of her 14 matched played throughout her debut season... Recorded her first collegiate point on an assist vs. Pacific (10/14)... Took a season-high two shots vs. Cal (10/28)... Also took a shot vs. LIU Brooklyn (9/25)... Her first shot on goal took place in the America East Tournament quarterfinal round vs. Albany (11/3).

ARCHBISHOP MITTY HS '16: Four-year letterwinner as her team’s forward… Led Archbishop Mitty to consecutive Blossom Valley Athletic League titles as a junior and senior… The Monarchs advanced to the Central Coast Section championship match both seasons and finished as runners-up… Ended her sophomore season with a team-high 13 goals… Recorded the most assists among all Monarchs the following year… Also received All-San Jose Mercury News honorable mention last season… Earned two letters as a member of Archbishop Mitty’s soccer team — one that won consecutive Western Catholic Athletic League championships and back-to-back CCS crowns… AMHS’ soccer team was ranked No. 10 in the state and No. 24 in the country during Gengarella’s sophomore year, and finished her junior season ranked No. 5 in the state and No. 10 in the nation… Gengarella’s school was named the No. 1 athletic program in California and No. 23 in the nation by MaxPreps last season… Cal-Hi Sports also named AMHS as its 2014-15 School of the Year for women’s sports… Also spent her last three years competing for San Jose Fly, her club team… Named her team’s captain and named Most Inspirational Player during the 2013-14 season… USA Field Hockey selected her to its Futures 2014 U19 team last year… Earned a fourth place finish at Nationals… Also named team captain as a senior… Archbishop Mitty High School Honor Roll selection all four years.

PERSONAL: Born in San Jose, California... Parents are Cynthia and John Gengarella... Marissa and Evan are her younger siblings... Not many people know that she has wanted a pet pig since she was 12... Committing to play Division I field hockey at UC Davis is her proudest personal accomplishment... Region 11 players that she competed against at the National Futures Championship... Scoring the game-winning goal against her high school's rival, in the final minutes, is her favorite sports highlight... Would play soccer if she could choose another sport to play at UC Davis... Would ditch skirts and wear a different style of uniform if she could change one thing about her sport... Writing, traveling and any sort of adventurous activity are her three favorite hobbies... You can take away everything she owns except her field hockey stick... She chose UC Davis because of its beautiful campus, friendly and passionate teachers, coaches, students and teachers.
