2024 (Redshirt Senior): Started all 14 games ... Led the Aggies with a school record 4,493 passing yards, 38 passing touchdowns and only 13 interceptions, going 367-for-521 to finish the season with a 70.4 completion percentage ... Ended the year ranked first in the nation in passing yards, passing touchdowns, second in the nation in completions per game (26.2) and passing yards per game (320.9), third in completion percentage (70.4) and total offense (309.9) ... Led the Big Sky in completions per game, passing yards per game, passing yards and passing touchdowns ... Threw at least three touchdowns in 11 games, including the10 straight games to end the season ... Went 26-for-41 with 320 passing yards and three touchdowns against East Texas A&M (Sept. 9) ... Had three touchdown passes when going 25-32 with 248 passing yards against then No. 5 Idaho (Sept. 28) ... Rushed for first career touchdown, while throwing for three at Portland State (Oct. 5), finishing 36-for-53 with three touchdowns ... Was a lights out 20-for-26 in Aggie win over Northern Colorado (Nov. 2), throwing for 285 yards and three touchdowns ... Tossed three touchdowns at then ranked No. 8 Montana (Nov. 9), finishing 28-for-38 with 227 passing yards in the nationally broadcast game ... Finished with 320 yards on 22-for-33 passing adding three passing touchdowns against then-ranked No. 2 Montana State (Nov. 16) ... In Causeway Classic winning game at Sacramento State (Nov. 23), threw for 398 passing yards on 27-for-36 (75 percent) passing and had three touchdown passes ... In the NCAA FCS Playoff Second Round, went 25-for-33 with 403 passing yards and three passing touchdowns in the Aggie victory over Illionis State (Dec. 7) ... Thre three touchdown passes and 345 yards in NCAA FCS Playoff Quarterfinal matchup at South Dakota (Dec. 14).
2023 (Redshirt Junior): WALTER PAYTON AWARD PRESEASON WATCH LIST…Was second in the Big Sky Conference in completions per game (21), fourth in completion percentage (.635) and passing yards (2,380), fifth in passing yards per game (216.4) and total offense (213.5), sixth in passing touchdowns (14), seventh in passing efficiency (125.6) and eighth in passing yards per completion (10.3) and yards per pass attempt (6.54)…Played in all 11 games…Had 231 passes for 2,380 yards with 14 touchdowns and 10 interceptions…Recorded season high in passes completed and passing yards with 31 passes for 359 against University of Montana on October 7th…Recorded five two touchdown games.
2022 (Redshirt Sophomore): HERO SPORTS SOPHOMORE ALL-AMERICAN… ALL-BIG SKY FIRST TEAM selection… Earned the team’s TONY KAYS AWARD (Most Improved Offensive Player)… TEAM CAPTAIN… BIG SKY OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK (Oct. 31)… Led the Big Sky Conference with 3,048 passing yards for a 277.1 yards per contest average… Also paced the conference with a 69.8 completion percentage… His 154.2 efficiency rating ranked second in the league… Threw for 20 touchdowns paired with only six interceptions… Sported three games with over 300 passing yards… Threw for multiple touchdowns in six contests… Over the course of three wins (NAU, Northern Colorado and Cal Poly), Hastings completed 82-percent of his passes for 1,004 yards and nine touchdowns to zero interceptions… Threw for 425 yards on 22-for-27 passing with four scores against Cal Poly (Oct. 29)… Tossed three touchdowns at No. 2 South Dakota State (Sept. 10)… Completed 16-of-21 passes with three touchdowns against San Diego (Sept. 17)… Threw three touchdowns on 18-of-21 passing at Northern Colorado… Completed a season-high 39 passes against No. 12 Weber State.
2021 FALL (Redshirt Freshman): BIG SKY FALL ALL-ACADEMIC… Played in 10 games and started the last five contests of the season at quarterback… Completed 130 passes on 215 attempts (60.5 pct.) for 1,173 yards with seven touchdowns and eight interceptions… Completed 28 passes on 34 attempts for 210 yards and two touchdowns against Cal Poly (10/23)… The next game at Northern Arizona, threw for 279 yards on 24-of-36 passing with two scores.
2021 SPRING (Redshirt Freshman): Made collegiate debut in home opener with Cal Poly (3/20)... Hit Carson Crawford for a 13-yarder on his first Aggie attempt, finishing the game with 5-for-7 passing with 63 yards and a TD to Blake Thorpe in the 4th quarter... Also went 1-for-2 with 11 yards against Eastern Washington (4/3).... Snared Big Sky All-Academic accolades.
2019 (Freshman): Redshirted.
SAN MARCOS HS '19: Threw for 3,119 yards and 31 TDs as a junior, his first as San Marcos’ quarterback… In eight games played this past season, Hastings recorded 1,932 passing yards, competed 137 of 211 passes and collected 19 TDs… Led the Knights to a berth in the CIF Open Division semifinals one season after they reached the Open Division quarterfinals… Earned first team San Diego All-CIF and All-Avocado League first team honors as a senior… This is the third straight year he earned all-conference recognition… Two-time All-Academic honoree at SMHS.
PERSONAL: Received Silver Ribbon awards from school personnel for holding a GPA of 3.75 or higher… President of his school’s Sports Club… His mom owns a music studio (Leading Note Studios in Encinitas), his dad plays the guitar and sings, his sister is a music major at USC, his brother attended USC and is a technical musician and he plays the piano… Hastings has performed on stage: Knott’s Berry Farm is his most notable venue… Said Hastings, "UC Davis has a very explosive offense with great talent and the way they throw the ball around definitely got my attention. I loved the coaching staff and players at UC Davis. I felt like their offense was a great fit for me. It's great to hear that I will be playing for a head coach with that kind of resume. I've heard nothing but great things about the whole coaching staff at Davis."
