LENA SVANHOLM: MORE THAN AN ATHLETE

2023-24: BIG WEST ALL-ACADEMIC...Appeared in 22 games with four starts...Averaged 8.7 points-per-game...Finished second on the team with a field goal percentage of 46.7%...Averaged 3.0 points-per-game and 1.4 rebounds-per-game...Scored a season-high 14 points while going 6-of-7 from the floor in the season-opening win over Academy of Art on Nov. 6.

2022-23: Missed the entire 2022-23 season due to injury.  

2021-22: Appeared in all 28 games for the Aggies, making two starts... Finished with 5.4 points per game and 3.0 rebounds per game while averaging over 13 minutes per game... Posted double-digit totals in points four times... Put up a season-high 16 points in a season-best 25 minutes at UC Irvine on Jan. 6... Grabbed a season-high seven rebounds against Academy of Art on Nov. 9.      

SUMMER 2021: Graduated with her bachelor's degree in German with a minor in chemistry... Enters the 2021-22 season in her first year pursuing a master's degree in pharmaceutical chemistry.

2020-21: Appeared in all 16 games in her debut season for the Aggies after transferring from Colorado State… Finished with 31 points and 23 rebounds in just over seven minutes per game for UC Davis… Made her Aggie debut in the regular season opener against San Francisco, finishing with a season-high eight points and two rebounds in the win over the Dons… Grabbed a season-best five rebounds in only six minutes at UC Santa Barbara on Jan. 29.

2019-20: Sat out the season due to NCAA transfer rules after joining the Aggies from Colorado State.

2018-19:
Appeared in all 30 games for the Rams as a sophomore, averaging 5.5 ppg and 2.7 rpg in just over 15 minutes per contest… Finished second on the team with 26 blocked shots… Shot .412 (68-for-165) from the floor for the season… Also hit 13-of-52 from three-point range and .789 from the line… Scored a season-high 14 points to go with seven rebounds in the season opener against Eastern New Mexico… Finished in double figures six other times… Blocked a season high five shots against Nevada on Jan. 23… Named a Mountain West Scholar-Athlete.

2017-18: Appeared in 16 games as a true freshman for the Rams… Averaged 1.4 ppg and 0.6 rpg… Finished with a season-high eight points on 4-of-7 from the field and added three rebounds in a win over Eastern New Mexico… Named a Mountain West Scholar-Athlete.

RUNGSTED GYMNASIUM ’17
School did not offer basketball… A seasoned veteran of international play, she has competed as a member of Denmark's various age-group squads… This past summer, Svanholm competed with the Danish U20 squad at the 2018 FIBA Women's European Championships in Romania, averaging 16.1 ppg and 11.1 rpg — ranked No. 6 and No. 2, respectively, in the tournament — while scoring a tournament high 24 points against Belarus and collecting three double-doubles, including a 20-point, 19-rebound, outing against Iceland… Named the Danish Women's League Talent of the Year in 2017, Svanholm averaged 19.9 ppg and 10.9 rpg over seven contests at the 2016 FIBA U18 Women's European Championships, posting four double-doubles in that span — including a 27-point, 19 rebound, performance against Bulgaria. She also added a 33-point night on 12-of-15 from the floor and 9-of-10 from the line in only 16 minutes against Albania in that same tournament — one of six 20-plus point performances in international competition in her career… Svanholm averaged 13.6 ppg and 6.4 rpg for Denmark's U18 team in 2015, and averaged 13.6 ppg and 8.2 rpg for the U16 squad in 2014.

Intends to major in chemistry… Played club basketball for the Hoersholm Basketball Klub from 2005-17… Helped lead the club to Nordic Championships in 2014 and 2015, a Danish Championship in 2017, a Danish Cup title in 2015… Lists her proudest personal accomplishment as moving to the United States without knowning anyone when she was 18 years old… Her career sports highlight is winning the Nordic Championships with the U18 Danish National Team… Chose UC Davis because it was a “very competitive program, featured a welcoming and open-minded staff and teammates, and a playing style that fit her game”… Top three items on her bucket list: See the Northern Lights, swim with dolphins, and learn sign language.
