LAS VEGAS — As the Aggies wrap up their first week at home, the Mountain West Conference has announced its Old Trapper Women's Volleyball Players of the Week, with
Ximena Cordero Barr named the conference Defensive Player of the Week for the second straight time.
With 39 digs across the two home games last week, Cordero Barr protected the back court through two tough matchups against San Diego State and Cal Poly. In a five-set slugfest against Cal Poly on Saturday, she collected 20+ digs for the first time in a match this season with 22.
Under her defensive leadership, UC Davis was able to come back from down 1-2 vs Cal Poly, a team that received votes in the latest AVCA Top 25 and the team that kept them out of last year's NCAA Tournament.
