DAVIS, Calif. — UC Davis field hockey secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Bellarmine on Sunday afternoon. Following a 1-1 tie through regulation and overtime, the Aggies went a perfect four-for-four in the deciding round to seal the win.

- UC Davis moves to 2-2 on the season following a thrilling shootout victory over Bellarmine.
- Mia Edwards provided the regulation offense for the Aggies, converting on a penalty corner play off an assist from Tristen Stanimir in the second quarter.
- Goalkeeper Addy Collingwood stood tall in the cage, racking up key saves across regulation and overtime before anchoring the defensive effort in the shootout.
- Clare Torres delivered the decisive blow in the shootout to seal the win, while Ella Franken, Katie Kim, and Mia Edwards also converted their shootout attempts for a perfect four-for-four.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bellarmine gained an early edge in the opening quarter when Mia Booth scored at the 1:28 mark to put the Knights ahead 1-0.
- The Aggies generated consistent offensive pressure in the second quarter, earning a penalty corner at 29:36 where Edwards buried the equalizer off a setup from Stanimir.
- Both defenses locked in during a scoreless second half, with Collingwood and the Aggie backline turning away late penalty corner opportunities to keep the game deadlocked through 60 minutes.
- UC Davis controlled the pace in the 11-v-11 overtime period, racking up six shots, a penalty corner, and penalty stroke attempt, but neither side could break through, pushing the contest into a shootout.
- The Aggies dominated the shootout round as Franken, Kim, Edwards, and Torres all converted, while Collingwood stopped two of Bellarmine's attempts to secure the final 2-1 victory.
