SEATTLE, Wash. — UC Davis men's soccer fell to Seattle U, 6-1, Thursday night at Championship Field.
Seattle U (2-2-0) broke open a scoreless match with three goals in a span of five minutes and 15 seconds during the first half. Dylan Wojdyla opened the scoring at 27:28 on assists from Aidan Fong and Alex Notzka. Leonardo Flores doubled the lead at 29:13 before Notzka made it 3-0 at 32:43, assisted by Fong and Obasi Thompson.
UC Davis (0-3-2) put two attempts on frame during the final minute of the half. Tristan Wouters and Nami Banks forced saves at 44:49 and 44:56, respectively, but the Redhawks carried their three-goal advantage into halftime.
Notzka scored his second goal of the match at 57:23 on an assist from Flores. Flores added his second at 71:05, and Fong completed Seattle U's scoring at 86:16 with an assist from Patrick Kearney.
Diego Orosco led the Aggies with four shots. He struck the crossbar at 77:04 before scoring unassisted with 14 seconds remaining. The goal was Orosco's second of the season.
Seattle U finished with a 19-9 advantage in shots and placed nine attempts on goal compared with three for UC Davis. The Redhawks also held a 10-5 edge in corner kicks. Talin Morgan made two saves over the opening 71:14, while Mekhai Wilson recorded one save during the final 18:46.
UC Davis remains in Seattle to face reigning national champion Washington at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Husky Soccer Stadium. The match will stream on B1G+, with live statistics also available.
