PORTLAND, Ore. — UC Davis (2-4-2) saw its unbeaten streak come to an end at three in a row with a 2-0 loss to Portland (4-5-0) in a nonconference road match Thursday at Merlo Field at the Clive Charles Soccer Complex.
The Pilots went on top just 5:28 into the match on a goal from Tayvi Khann with Journey Middleborn and Hailey Bagby picking up assists. Portland added to its lead and created the final score early in the second half when Ruby Settle was fouled in the box and converted a penalty kick with the clock reading 51:44.
The Pilots had only one shot on goal by Abriana Ruiz outside their tallies as both teams put three shots on the goalkeeper. Chloe Keating had two of UC Davis' three shots on goal, while Presley Henry registered one.
Both goalkeepers played all 90 minutes with Sophia Hills registering three saves for the Pilots and Piper Wilkison one for the Aggies.
Portland held final advantages in shots (7-6) and corner kicks (7-2).
UC Davis returns home to host Idaho (5-2-1) in its final nonconference match of the regular season and last tune-up for its first season in the Mountain West on Sunday (1 p.m., MW+). UC Davis will host both the Special Olympics and Youth Day in Sunday's contest against the Vandals at Aggie Soccer Field.

Event parking will be honored in Lot 25 and the Pavilion Parking Structure for all home games. The cost for weekday games is $5.50, while weekends are free but both require parking permits. There is construction work in the area and fans should follow posted signage around the Pavilion Parking Structure, Lot 25 and Aggie Soccer Field to enter the venue.

- D Kiley Fehrenbacher, F Lakelee Perkins, D Courtney Wagner and D Sydnie Fong each started and are the only four players on the roster to start all eight matches.
- D Kiley Fehrnebacher extended her consecutive matches started streak to 27 (all games possible in the last two seasons).
- UC Davis' three-game unbeaten streak (1-0-2) that was snapped had been the Aggies' longest since posting a 5-0-2 record over the final seven games of the 2024 regular season.
