DAVIS, Calif. — UC Davis men's soccer fell to San Francisco, 6-0, Saturday night at Aggie Soccer Field.
San Francisco (3-3-1) scored three times in each half, with Oscar Harris and Isaiah Easley each finishing with braces. Harris opened the scoring at 7:36 on an assist from Rylan Smith before Ben Norris doubled the lead with an unassisted goal at 19:52. Harris converted a penalty kick at 33:29 to give the Dons a 3-0 halftime advantage.
Talin Morgan made four saves during the opening half for UC Davis (0-5-2). Michael Bulloch sent the Aggies' first attempt high in the 24th minute, while Gabe Sanchez and Gabriel Haggerty each followed with shots wide of the goal before halftime.
UC Davis produced two attempts six seconds apart in the 58th minute. Ronaldo Melgoza took a shot at 57:03 before Rafael Matiello forced San Francisco goalkeeper Lucas Jones into a save at 57:09 with a bicycle attempt. The Aggies earned all four of their corner kicks after halftime.
David Raphael extended the Dons' lead at 65:44 on an assist from Easley. Easley converted a penalty kick at 73:47 before adding his second goal with 22 seconds remaining, assisted by Nicky Pennell.
San Francisco finished with a 13-5 advantage in shots and a 10-1 edge in shots on goal. Matiello accounted for UC Davis' lone attempt on target, while Bulloch, Sanchez, Haggerty and Melgoza each added one shot. Morgan played the opening 70:53 in goal, and Mekhai Wilson handled the final 19:07.
UC Davis travels to Saint Mary's for a 1 p.m. match Saturday, Sept. 19, in Moraga.
GAME NOTES
- Morgan made four saves, all during the first half, raising his season total to 27 through seven starts.
- Matiello recorded UC Davis' lone shot on goal.
