DAVIS, Calif. — For the second straight season, UC Davis football tight end has been named the nation's second best returning tight end by HERO Sports as part of the publication's 2026 FCS season preview.

Entering this season as a fifth year senior, Williams is coming off of an injury shortened 2025 where he starred in three contests, catching a touchdown in the Aggies home opener against Southern Utah on Sept. 20.

Williams has been a proven tight end throughout his career, being named an All-Big Sky Conference First Teamer in 2024 after leading the conference's tight ends in receiving touchdowns with six. He was also second in the country in this category.

At season's end, he had posted career numbers in multiple categories with 265 receiving yards on 34 receptions, averaging 19.0 yards per game.

The Aggies are back on the field with the season opener up in Portland State on Aug. 29. The home opener will be on Sept. 19 in the non-conference finale versus Stetson.
