DAVIS, Calif. — UC Davis graduate quarterback Grant Harper has been named the 2025-26 Big Sky Football Scholar-Athlete, the conference announced Thursday.

"Putting together an entire career that would qualify you to be a Scholar Athlete in the Big Sky Conference is an incredibly impressive feat, and all 23 individuals being honored today should be very proud of themselves for what they've accomplished," Big Sky Commissioner Tom Wistrcill said. "This is a group that has compiled a long list of accolades for their respective sports and are now putting a bow on their stellar careers with a diploma in hand, which is truly what collegiate athletics is all about."

Harper, who recently completed his Master's of Management degree, is recognized for his accomplishments both in the classroom and on the field during his six-year career with the Aggies.

Harper made the first start of his collegiate career last season against Northern Colorado. He responded by completing 15-of-31 passes for 216 yards and three passing touchdowns while adding 43 rushing yards on nine carries to lead the Aggies to victory.

His perseverance and commitment throughout six seasons in the UC Davis football program exemplify the qualities celebrated by the Big Sky Scholar-Athlete award, recognizing excellence in academics, athletics and leadership.

Harper joins a distinguished group of Aggies to receive one of the conference's highest academic honors.
